Public Records Research

Searching "Public Records" - those records which are maintained at public expense such as court records, property records, fictitious business name filings, vital statistics, etc. - can be a daunting task given the myriad of places that these records exist.

Our records researchers, highly skilled in what they do, are connected to a network of records researchers in all fifty states, as well as to researchers around the world.

While Internet access and particularly the large repository of records archived by a number of proprietary databases has opened many records to faster acquisition, there are still many public records that are not available online. While most public agencies have endeavored to digitize their records after computers became widely available in the 1990s, there has been limited funding for digitizing records that pre-date computers. Therefore many records from the 1980s and earlier still only exist in paper or microfilm form.

Do you need records researched in the Library of Congress or the various National Archives repositories around the country? We have the connection. Whether it is information from and/or copies of a local court document, the expense records of a politician in Sacramento or traffic citations in a New York borough, we have the ability to find them for you.
